Comprehensive Sports Medicine Services
Taylor Physical Therapy takes a multi-faceted approach to serving the athletic population in the communities surrounding our clinics. Athletic trainers can be found on the sidelines of various athletic competitions to provide first aid and emergency care, evaluate injuries, assist with referrals and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to assist with the rehabilitation process. Each Taylor Physical Therapy clinic is staffed with physical therapists who are passionate about providing an efficient rehabilitation program to return the athlete to play safely and successfully.

Sports Medicine Services
Taylor Physical Therapy proudly partners with multiple school districts to provide comprehensive sports medicine services to all athletes. With the goal of making sports medicine services more accessible, an on-site athletic trainer is provided in various ways to help injured athletes get the help they need the most efficient and effective way possible. With that, early evaluation can help prevent injuries and keep athletes where they belong - on the court or playing field! Athletic Trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who are able to complete the following:
- Evaluate and accurately diagnose injuries and illnesses
- Help manage and direct plan of care to ensure the efficient and timely referral processes
- Educate student-athletes, parents, and coaches on injury and illnesses and the importance of proper management
- Collaborate with physicians to improve patient outcomes
- Manage, coordinate, and communicate return-to-play progression

Sports Injury Rehabilitation
Injuries are a part of athletics but with the help of our dedicated team of physical therapists and athletic trainers, athletes of all levels can return to competition in a safe and efficient manner. Rehabilitation programs will be customized to meet the unique goals of each athlete and incorporate specialized treatment techniques, such as Blood Flow Restriction (BFR), Dry Needling, and the utilization of an anti-gravity treadmill, to ensure athletes get the best treatment possible. Our therapists work closely with the referring orthopedic surgeons to safely return the athlete to play and prevent future injuries. Athletic injuries can be rehabilitated at all Taylor Therapy clinic locations.

Free Sports Injury Screen
Five of Taylor Physical Therapy clinics offer a FREE injury evaluation per injury for middle school and high school athletes. During that evaluation, a physical therapist will complete a thorough evaluation, provide treatment as indicated, and recommend follow up as needed. They will educate the athlete and parent, address questions or concerns, and communicate with coaches regarding practice guidelines and return to competition as needed. Free Sports Injury Clinic
During the fall athletic season, a FREE Sports Injury Clinic is provided for all middle and high school athletes on Saturdays at Taylor Physical Therapy at Waverly Health Center from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. During this time, a provider will complete a thorough evaluation and treat as indicated. Communication is key; therefore, a progress report will be provided for parents and coaches as well as injury related education for athletes so they understand their injuries.
